The Best Home Remedies For Toothache

The emergence of toothache will surely ruin your day or you stole peaceful sleep . Unwanted pain in the mouth irritates and creates intolerable anxiety . Pain of toothaches can be caused by caries , abscess or fractured teeth , inflamed gums , teeth squeaking , aggressive chewing , a recent dental procedure and so on . The intensity and type of pain vary so it can manifest as sensitivity to hot / cold or direct contact with the tooth , or to be pulsating , sharp or constant mild pain .The visit to the dentist is required for the occurrence of toothache and there is a rule ” the sooner , the better .” But in the moments when you can not get in touch with a dentist , you can use any of the following home remedies for toothache.

How To Get Rid Of Toothache

  •  Cloves

Cloves oil is the most popular home remedy for toothache . If you have essential cloves  oil, apply 1-2 drops of the tooth , but be careful because you can’t swallow it. If you do not have oil , the use of cloves will help you too. Take 1-2 cloves , put them in your mouth to soften and press gently with your teeth to use some of their oil. You also have to know that cloves only stiffen the place to reduce the intensity of pain,  and not to cure .

  • Rinse with warm salt water

In the bowl of hot water put a teaspoon of salt and stir. Drink the liquid to rinse the area around the tooth , or to remove possible remnants of food .

  • Keep your head lifted up

Raising your head will relieve the pressure on the area around the tooth and can relieve you from the pulsating pain.

  • Garlic

Take a clove of garlic, grind it and put them directly on the tooth. Garlic acts like a analgesic and antiseptic  and can help reducing the pain .

  • Compress something cold to the cheek .

In cloth, put a few ice cubes and place them as lining of cheek on the same side where is the diseased tooth . The ice will cool the surrounding the place and it will be easier to submit pain . Do not put ice directly on the tooth ! Although it may temporarily help with this process you’ll do worse .

  • Ice on the hand

Rub with ice cube the “V” area of the back of the hand , where the thumb and index finger merge . Rub it for 5-6 minutes .

  • Rinse with 3 % hydrogen .

Use 3% solution of hydrogen when you have pain caused by growing a new tooth or gum pain . Hydrogen will remove all food residue and will relieve the pain. It’s important to rinse it without swallowing.

  • Tea bags .

Place used tea bag on the tooth while it is still hot . This is a popular folk remedy for which is believed to help against toothache .

  • Chewing gum for worn out or fallen tooth fillings

If you have worn out or fallen tooth filling , cover the exposed area with soft chewing gum without sugar to reduce pain . Chewing gum can help to fix loose shattered seal . In this case , it is best to avoid chewing in order to have exacerbated the situation .

  • Unbearable pain

Of course , when the pain is unbearable , you can eliminate with aspirin or other medicines for this purpose . DO NOT apply aspirin on the tooth . Many people break aspirin and hold the tooth in order to pass the pain . Never put aspirin on the tooth and surrounding gums ! If placed on the gum , aspirin can damage tissues and cause a burning sensation that could last for several days .

The disappearance of pain should not be your signal that everything is ok and make you cancel your visit to the dentist . Pain of toothaches is an indicator that there is a problem , so consultation with a dentist is necessary .
