When Design Hour Strikes: Turning a Bedroom from Yikes to Worth 1000 Likes

The bedroom is the one room in the house where love should be felt in the air and all around there should be a relaxing and pleasant ambiance perfect for spending wonderful moments with your loved one. It should be the place where you can let go of all your worries, snuggle up with your partner and immerse yourself into a magical world of passion and dreams. I’m saying all this and you may get the impression that I know all about how to make a dreamy bedroom that would reflect a lovely atmosphere, but the truth is that for a long time I couldn’t figure out what would be the best way to turn my own bedroom into a relaxing retreat ready for unwinding, dreaming and love making.

I have a large bedroom with picture windows and a sliding glass door that provides access to the balcony. As you can imagine designing such a spacious room is never easy. So, a few months after moving into our new home, my husband and I still had a half empty bedroom with only a few furniture pieces and one large mirror. The room simply felt cold, uninspiring and looked rather boring to be honest, so I had to come up with a creative way to make the most of the available space. I went through some of my interior design magazines and searched online for pictures of stylish bedrooms to find some inspiration for my design project.

In one of my magazines I saw a picture of a love nest in a large bedroom and it looked so lovely and unique that I had to make one for my husband and I. It was the ideal solution to put to great use the large floor space, but most importantly give the room a more homey and chic look. It was time for some design magic indeed. Now you can’t have a love nest without some cuddle-worthy furniture pieces and modern sofas that can transform into a comfy bed in a matter of seconds are ideal for this purpose. I also wanted to get a chic coffee table with a glass top in deep red- the colour of passion and love. It serves as the perfect spot for arranging a few romantic touches, such as scented candles, flowers and my heart shaped picture frames, I bought last year that can perfectly set the mood for a special night with my sweetheart.

For the seating area I wanted something in a neutral colour pallet that would complement the interior design of my bedroom. After comparing various models of modern sofas online I decided to get one in the ever so gorgeous grey colour. The elegant sofa features legs made from solid timber that further enhances its modern and sophisticated design. With my chic love nest wonderfully arranged my bedroom is now the ideal place for spending special moments with my loving husband and keep the fires burning in our marriage.
